Welcome home! Founded in 1949 by Mr. and Mrs. J. Russell, Ivor Furniture Company is the leader in Western Tidewater for fine home furnishings. Our showroom is filled with a large selection of furniture, appliances, bedding, and flooring. Our La-Z-Boy Comfort Studio includes over 3,000 square feet of the latest La-Z-Boy products and other fine furniture selections, featuring the look and comfort our customers are seeking.

About Us

Driven by his passion for the community and his desire to meet the needs of a rural area, Russell established our furniture store on Main Street and later moved the business to its current location at the stoplight in Ivor. We soon expanded, bringing more inventory, warehouse space, and a larger showroom to the area. As the store grew, so did our customer base.

In 1999, when a tragic fire swept through our store following Hurricane Floyd, there was never any doubt that we would rebuild for our family and for the communities that depended on us. Business did not stop for one moment after the fire. We brought trailers on-site to use as temporary office space. During the rebuilding process, we secured a temporary showroom at a former grocery store.

Since then, we have continued to grow and prosper. In the spring of 2009, we opened our La-Z-Boy Comfort Studio with over 3,000 square feet of space dedicated to La-Z-Boy products. We have added several new vendors in recent years to accomplish our goal of offering more solid wood, American-made products. We are always searching for new and exciting products to offer our customers and to adapt to their changing wants and needs.
